Interestingly, but not surprisingly, I have received mixed reviews for my first two ever performances on blogger. Not everyone respected the request
I made in my virgin post about going easy on me. Since I made it clear that it was my first time, I felt taken advantage of. It was like getting raped in public (of course, being the naked blogger, I'm sure I was asking for it). Now I am seriously suffering from a case of the old cliché, “once bitten, twice shy.”
With the contradicting feedback, however, I am reminded that there is not one of us who can aim to please everybody. After all, “some like it hot,” and apparently, “some not”. There are, of course, the ones that fall into the mean who like it hot only on occasion, contingent upon the duration of “not”. I do have an agenda to argue several affairs, however, I am also here for pleasure. While at home, I can think of few better ways to spend my time than to articulate some of my perpetual grievances, simultaneously enjoying myself. What is a life that is all business and no pleasure? A wasted one. As I analyze my purpose for submitting these posts, I remember with great joy and relief, “this is not an assignment! I can make it whatever I want.” It is almost too good to be true, which I fear, because you know what they say about that.
Having been bitten among the accolades, has helped to instill in me a lesson about the importance of being comfortable in the skin I am in. Some people seem to like my skin (which happens to smell quite indulgent at the moment thanks to Bath and Body Works Simply Divine Cherry Pie scent... I'm being literal, that is not an innuendo). I am sure there are some who would prefer my skin to be darker. Or thicker. Or thinner. But what it comes down to is this: I am the one wearing it, caring for it, and looking it in the mirror every day. In whatever fashion I decide to portray my skin, I am the one who has to sleep in it at night. As long as I can do that, everything else will fall into place.

It can be just as important to ask the questions as it can to supply answers. I always loved that scene in Yentil ... "This one has a lot of questions. But don't worry, we pick our students as much by the questions they ask as by the questions they answer."
Is hypocrisy an outrageous moral flaw? I once thought so, now I'm not so sure. "Hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue." is a common saying.
Incidentally, people often misuse the word. It is hypocritical to believe there is nothing wrong with a wesson oil party but tell everyone else it is the road to perdition.
But if you believe it is the road to perdition and go to the party anyway, that is weakness ... not hypocrisy.
Ok, it might appear to be a subtle point. But there is a lot to such subtlety.
I've never been to a wesson oil party, but if anyone wants to invite me just tell me if I can bring a camera.

In all actuality, I am not a rebel without a cause...I am just an (early) thirty-something coming to terms with myself in a world that often times doesn't agree with me. I am a very caring and compassionate person who believes in goodness for the sake of humanity rather than religion, which makes for a convoluted journey coping in a land of preachers and sinners. I actually have a high moral standard, but mine is one of philanthropy rather than making sure I pass through the 'Pearly Gates'. In some way or another we're all hypocritical, naturally, myself included. Of course, the higher the ideals you carry, the easier to be a hypocrite, as you more or less mentioned.
Trust me on this, I have been asking plenty of questions throughout my life, and since I haven't gotten many answers I like, I am using my experience and intuition to formulate my own. Understand, however, I do not presume that my answers are appropriate for anybody else. What perplexes me is how so very many NEVER do ask. They accept what's been shoved down their throats as absolute. Perhaps part of why the Christian message is riddled with duplicity is it loses just a bit of it's fervor through the generations. We are (in the ballpark of) 1,900 years away from it's inception. Hmmm...I am literally typing as I think, and I am extremely exhausted so forgive me if this is incoherent or illogical! Goodnight~
P.S. - I had to laugh as I wrote the line about "being the naked blogger, I was probably asking for it."

Oh, I can always jump back! Unless it's so incredibly liberating I become addicted to lube fests! To assure I draw a large crowd, I was thinking about securing Florence Henderson to make a guest appearance. Maybe she can even demonstrate some of Wesson's alternative uses. What do you think?
